Grime Magazine Case Study Research



RWD Magazine also known as 'Rewind' is a British based magazine which mainly focuses on Music, Style and interviews and charts on hip hop, grime and UK garage.
It was founded in mid/late 2003 and is released monthly, distributing 98,300 copies. It is considered to be the largest magazine on youth music and lifestyle in the UK and features the most known UK underground artist such as Chipmunk,Skepta, Tinie Tempah and Giggs, allowing it to be a recognizable magazine to the youth in the UK.
The editor and former editor are Tego Sigel and Nardene Scott.
In mid 2007 the editor decided to undergo some changes which allowed RWD to expand its audience, therefore started to feature all type of music that appeals the younger generation.
As well as the magazine, RWD  created a website which features music videos, tracks and artist profiles.
It is now a successful magazine and is one of the few magazines associated with grime in the market as its still an upcoming genre.
